A PORT Glasgow man charged with domestic abuse is said to have controlled how long his partner could bathe for and to have repeatedly demanded that she make him dinner.

Prosecutors allege that John Alexander engaged in an abusive course of behaviour which was abusive towards the woman over more than two-and-a-half-years between April 2021 and November 2023.

It is claimed that the 41-year-old accused the alleged victim of infidelity, followed her, and messaged the wife of her personal trainer accusing her and the trainer of having an affair.

Alexander, of Broadstone Avenue in the Port, allegedly accessed the woman's mobile phone without her permission on various occasions and challenged her when she changed the password to stop him accessing the device.

Court papers state that the accused controlled how long she could bathe for, controlled how long she could use her laptop for, and repeatedly demanded that she make him dinner.

The Crown complaint adds that Alexander repeatedly locked the woman out of her home, threw her belongings out of the property, repeatedly shouted and swore at her, and called her derogatory names.
