TWO alleged thieves have appeared in court charged with breaking into a Greenock shop and making off with money and tickets.
Accused pair Joseph Owens, 27, and Andrew Rennie, 24, are said to have illegally entered the Eldon Street Co-op store on February 12, 2023 and stolen a quantity of cash and tickets.
The duo, who deny the indictment allegation, are set to return to the dock next week in a separate case involving six accused people.
A hearing this week was told that there is a ‘reasonable prospect of that matter resolving’ by way of a possible plea deal.
Solicitors Anthony Boland and Michael McKeown, representing Owens and Rennie, lodged a joint motion to continue the alleged Co-op theft case to call alongside the other proceedings on September 10.
