POLICE have issued advice to residents in Inverclyde following a spate of vehicle break-ins.
Officers say they have received 'numerous' reports of items being stolen from cars in the Bow Farm area and surrounding streets over the past few days.
Drivers are advised to ensure their vehicles are locked with their windows closed overnight.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland Renfrewshire and Inverclyde said: “This simple action can protect your belongings and reduce the likelihood of crime.
“Leaving items on show is an invitation. Mobile phones, electronic equipment, coins, sunglasses, tools, clothing and bags should be removed from the vehicle or placed in the boot.
“Stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity via 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
