Plans to build a new electric vehicle charging point in Greenock have been given the green light.
Councillors on the planning board voted unanimously in favour of the application.
The charging point will be located on land near to Auchmead Road and there will be also two parking bays and substation.
Councillor Stephen McCabe asked if it was a commercial venture and about the flow of traffic and how cars as would approach and leave the charging unit.
He was assured by officers that cars would drive in and drive out while Councillor Chris Curley was happy to back the proposal as long as it didn't impact on road safety.
Coucillor Tommy McVey, chair of the board, put forward the motion to grant the application subject to conditions.
The decision was made at a meeting of the planning board on September 4.
