A MAN has been arrested in connection with an alleged serious assault in Greenock.
Police were called to a report that a 51-year-old man had been seriously assaulted on Regent Street at around 2.20pm on Friday, September 6.
The man was taken to Inverclyde Royal Hospital by ambulance and a 63-year-old was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.20pm on Friday, 6 September 2024, police were called to a report that a 51-year-old man had been seriously assaulted on Regent Street, Greenock.
"The man was taken by ambulance to Inverclyde Royal Hospital for treatment.
"A 63-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
"A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
