A GALLERY in Gourock has been awarded a community grant to help set up a school project.

Crow Cottage Arts has set up 'A love Letter to Inverclyde' with local pupils.

They are hoping to create a display of artworks and the creation of a free standing chandelier scuplture.

Stained glass artist Alec Galloway owns the Kempock Street gallery with his wife Louise Wylie.

They were awarded £5,000 for the project from Inverclyde Council's community grants fund, set up to support organisations, charities and community groups.

The committee members met recently to approve the award of £250,000, split between around 100 applicants.
