PORT Glasgow's library has been closed to the public following a gas leak in the area last night.
Inverclyde Council confirmed the facility would be shut to the public on Wednesday as a precaution after an incident occurred in the vicinity of the library on Tuesday.
Scottish Gas Networks said they responded to a gas escape in Port Glasgow on Tuesday night and completed emergency repairs.
The infrastructure company says no residents in the area were evacuated.
They said staff remained on site this morning, carrying out standard checks, but the company says the library is safe to reopen.
Inverclyde Council apologised for any inconvenience caused and said it hoped to welcome visitors again soon.
