POLICE have launched an enquiry after a ‘substantial cannabis cultivation’ was found while they responded to reports of an injured man in Greenock.

Officers are said to have made the discovery while attending a property on Weir Street on Wednesday morning.

A 22-year-old man found within was also taken to hospital.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 9.50am on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 officers were called to reports of a man found injured within a premises on Weir Street, Greenock

"Officers attended and a substantial cannabis cultivation was discovered within.

"The 22-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
