GUESTS from Inverclyde and beyond had a ‘dram’ good time as Ardgowan Distillery’s annual open day returned for its second year.

The community came together for an enjoyable afternoon in the sun at the under-construction facility’s base near Inverkip last Saturday.

A wide range of activities and attractions were on offer for the many locals who chose to come along, including live music, family entertainment, charity stalls, prize draws and, of course, whisky tastings.

Whisky aficianados also had the opportunity to invest in a cask of their own and see the progress of work to build the distillery, which is expected to open in spring 2025.

A spokesperson for the distillery said: “Thank you so much to every single one of the many visitors who joined us at Bankfoot this weekend for a celebration of community, culture and food and drink under the glorious late summer sun.

“We welcomed guests from all across the globe as well as our fantastic local community.

“We'd like to extend special thanks to all of our staff, volunteers, suppliers and partners who worked incredibly hard to prepare the site and put together a fantastic event - we couldn't have done it without you.

“Slàinte mhath and here's to many more successful open days to come.”
