THE team behind this month's Circus Montini show in Port Glasgow have revealed more details of what audiences can expect when the 'big top' comes to town later this month.
Circus Montini is at Coronation Park from Wednesday, September 25 until Sunday, September 29 as part of its latest Scottish tour.
It comes hard on the heels of the troupe's six-day run at Birkmyre Park in Kilmacolm in July.
It's promoted by Yorkshire man Tony Hopkins, who has spent the last 40 years promoting and touring family favourites such as Chipperfield's Circus, Gerry Cottle's Circus, the Netherlands National Circus, Billy Smart's Circus, and Circus Fiesta.
A spokesperson said: "This show has been created to be able to take the show to places that do not often see a circus but without reducing the quality or quantity of the acts or production.
"Circus Montini brings spectacular entertainment to towns and cities all over the country.
"It follows in the wheel tracks of those great circuses of the past and is returning to the ethos of taking a family show to the people, creating a memorable experience on their doorstep."
The show features a full, fast-moving programme "paying a kind of tribute to those early showmen who made circus a social favourite", and includes Petro the clown, who has come to the UK from Ukraine and is now living safely in Yorkshire with his family.
Its Port Glasgow shows are at 4.45pm and 7pm on September 25-27, 3pm and 6pm on September 28, and 12.30pm and 3pm on September 29.
