GREENOCK's A8 is closed at Dalrymple Street following an major ongoing incident - with reports a person has been struck by a vehicle.

Police and ambulances are on the scene at the junction of Dalrymple Street and Rue End Street, close to Greenock Police Station.

Traffic going eastbound is being diverted at the Bullring roundabout towards High Street and the A78.

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
