PEOPLE in Inverclyde are being urged to show their support for Christian Aid at a fund-raising coffee morning in Greenock this weekend.

The Greenock Christian Aid committee is holding the event at the Greenock West United Reformed Church in George Square on Saturday, September 21.

The coffee morning takes place from 10am until 12 noon and entry is just £2.50.

Christian Aid is the international aid agency for more than 40 Christian denominations across the UK and Ireland. Christian Aid works to support key projects in the world’s poorest communities to alleviate the suffering caused by war, poverty, natural disasters and climate change.

Donations of home baking can be handed in from 6-7pm on Friday evening, or from 9am on Saturday.
