A choir hit the high notes at fun workshops to get folk singing.
Greenock Philharmonic Choir held a vocal workshop in Old Gourock and Ashton Parish Church.
They were led by Musical Director, Nicholas Wilks, and were delighted to be joined by the wonderful Laura McFall for a fun day of vocal exercises.
They sang African songs by ear and then launched in onto some sectional rehearsals for a couple of movements of Brahms’ Requiem.
The participants really benefitted from all parts of the day and from Nick and Laura’s expertise to help develop their vocal techniques.
The choir were very pleased to welcome singers from a number of other choirs as well as other visitors.
The new session has just started and rehearsals are at 7:15pm in Lyle Kirk, Union St, Greenock on Monday evenings.
The choir are working towards their Christmas concert, and also towards singing Brahms’ German Requiem in March.
New singers are welcome.
