PEOPLE all over Inverclyde were treated to a musical blast from the past when a cruise ship arrived in Greenock this morning.
Regal Princess played part of the theme song from American television series The Love Boat at 11.20am and again at 1.10pm after she sailed onto our shores.
People living, working, and walking in and around Greenock stopped in their tracks when they heard the impromptu rendition of the tune.
The Love Boat was based on books written by Jeraldine Saunders who was a director at a cruise line company.
Episodes aired from 1977 to 1987 and were all set on Princess Cruises ships.
Regal Princess arrived in Greenock at 9am this morning and is due to leave at 8pm this evening heading for Kirkwall, Orkney.
She'll then go on to Invergordon, Leith, and Paris, before finishing her voyage in Southampton.
Today's visit marks her 12th arrival in Greenock this year and she is due to sail in again on September 30.
