The field included 12 visitors representing six other clubs, on a day that was well organised by Karen Skewies.

The ladies' vice-captain ensured that her 'Burgh team' were on hand to cover all angles, with a total of 16 prizes available and ready to be won.

Those ranged from the top award, in the form of the Burgh Trophy, to the novelty prizes for nearest the pin, nearest the line, longest drive and least number of putts for 18 holes.

Gail Henderson, another Gourock member, was hot on the winner's tail, finishing just one shot behind in second place.

The scratch prize was won by Linda McDougall from Kilmacolm with a gross score of 87.

A club spokesperson added: "Thanks go to all those who organised and helped on the day and to our ladies section sponsors, including our club pro, Derek Watters."
