The 5th Squirrels enjoyed an indoor camp learning new scouting skills.
The event took place last Friday night in their hall.
The young scouts were taught fire-lighting techniques, including the use of cotton wool to start a fire.
Once the fire was lit, they practised the essential skill of marshmallow toasting.
They also learned the names of all the parts of an axe.
After a busy evening of learning, the scouts enjoyed hot dogs for supper.
They then settled down to watch a Minions film before retiring to their tents for the night.
In other news, the world-famous Gangshow is set to return this year.
The show will run from November 12 to November 16.
To book, email greenockgangshow24@gmail.com.
All bookings made after September 30 will attract a booking fee.
