THE Beacon Arts Centre will welcome a ‘visually stunning’ play which incorporates British Sign Language to the stage this week.
The cast of Love Beyond, a co-production from Raw Material and Vanishing Point in association with Aberdeen Performing Arts, will take to the stage in Greenock on Thursday, September 26.
Created by renowned theatre artist Ramesh Meyyappan, the show, described as "beautiful, tender and visually stunning", follows Harry – a sign language user living with dementia – as he moves into a new home.
Through its use of BSL, visual language including sign memes and visual vernacular, and oral dialogue, it is hoped the play will present an equal experience for deaf and hearing audiences.
The show, part of the Made In Scotland showcase for 2024, starts at 7.30pm, and tickets are on sale at tinyurl.com/4wwt7dpm.
