GREENOCK actor Martin Compston has backed a charity auction by donating a signed strip from this year’s Soccer Aid match.
The Line of Duty star is supporting a family friend’s fundraiser for Alzheimer Scotland.
Martin has offered up his match worn top from the Unicef event, which took place at Stamford Bridge in June.
The strip is also signed by his World XI teammates.
In a social media post, Martin said: “Anybody who has had experience of Alzheimer’s can attest to just how devastating it is – not just for the person dealing with it, but also for their family, friends and loved ones.”
The auction is now live online, with bids being accepted on a range of items.
Among the items up for grabs are football strips signed by Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland and Scotland star John McGinn.
A glove signed by former Celtic goalie Joe Hart is also available, as well as a golf top signed by Scottish Open champion Robert MacIntyre, while other prizes include rounds of golf at Greenock, Gourock and other courses across Scotland, a signed Morton strip and ball, and a hospitality package at Cappielow.
