GREENOCK born peer Lord Offord of Darvel is reported to be dating royalty.
The former Conservative minister, who visited his home town as parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Scotland is stepping out with Countess Alexandra, according to the Daily Mail.
She is the ex wife of Prince Joachim of Denmark, the younger brother of King Frederik.
Malcolm Offord, who was handed a life peerage by Boris Johnson in 2021, is a former Ardgowan Primary and Greenock Academy pupil.
He visited his home town in September 2022 when he joined the Inverclyde Taskforce promising to help grow Inverclyde's economy by growing tourism and kickstarting a digital skills revolution.
He went on to study law at Edinburgh University and worked in private equity in the City of London.
The Tory peer and donor was later appointed as UK Minister for Exports in the Department of Business and Trade.
Hong Kong born royal Countess Alexandra was married to Prince Joachim from 1995 to 2004, and the couple have two children.
During his visit two years ago, Lord Offord visited the Clydeport container terminal, the Municipal Buildings and export firm PG Paper, as well as hearing feedback from local businesses and other public figures on the then government's Levelling Up agenda.
