AN inspirational Port Glasgow business coach and podcast host has made her dreams come true by writing a best selling book on how to create a happy work place.
Expert Laura Royal, who set up DNA Coaching during the pandemic, has channelled all her energies into talking about leadership and coaching in Leaders Assemble.
The former Port Glasgow High pupil has always had a love of writing, and now she is putting her two great passions together.
After starting her working life in with mobile firm One2One, Laura, now 43, quickly rose through the ranks in learning, development and training.
Her book, featuring Laura's top tips on how to super-charge a workforce, went from the bottom of the Amazon charts to number 126 in a day - and eventually hit the top of the business best-seller list.
Laura, who lives in Kingston Dock, said: "This really is a dream come true for me. I couldn't believe it when it was going up the business book charts.
"I used to love writing stories when I was a wee girl. I used to be on the computer at school in English, writing away.
"When I left school I joined One2One, which became TMobile, and it was the most brilliant experience. Mobile phones were just starting to take off. It was a great time to be alive.
"I started going into training, learning and development, and I realised I was good at it. "
Laura began to work with top firms before setting up her own business, travelling all over the country speaking to clients and running conferences.
She has recently launched a podcast Coaches & Leaders Assemble: The Coaching and Leadership Podcast as well as her book.
Laura said: "To be honest, I have enough to write two books. Once I started, I couldn't stop. I am so proud of the book and the reaction.
"I very much believe in changing the behaviour in an office. There is no way that a work place should have mini dictators, It is about creating the right environment, and there is a lot of practical advice in the book."
Laura held a book launch for all her family and friends in her home town when Leaders Assemble was published this summer.
She has thanked her dad Stephen McKeown, the former Port Glasgow High janitor and her mum Ruby for all their support.
Laura said: "They are incredible. They have been so supportive my whole life."
