PEOPLE across Inverclyde will get the chance to share and celebrate recovery stories at events in Greenock today (Friday).

Through the Lens of Recovery has been organised by Your Voice and the team at Creative Recovery Inverclyde.

The showcase will begin with a special screening at the Waterfront Cinema from 11am-12noon, and will continue with talks and performances at The Wyllieum until 3pm.

The Wyllieum's general manager Willie Sutherland has been working with the team at Your Voice for the last two years.

He met artist Elina Bry, who works with Your Voice, when he exhibited at Beacon Arts Centre last year.

A group from Your Voice have been taking part in activities focused on creative recovery in the space upstairs at The Wyllieum since it opened earlier this year.

Willie said it's 'really important to him' that he can offer space and facilities for people.

He said: "The guys who are participating in the project have been coming here on a weekly basis and I'm looking forward to developing the relationship we have with them.

"I'm really excited about what we're doing with creative recovery.

"We can make a difference to the quality of life for people."
