A LONG-running inquiry into the abuse of children in care is to hear evidence relating to a former orphanage and children's home in Kilmacolm.
The Balrossie children's home is one of a number of Scottish care homes which will be discussed at the next session of the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry next week.
Hearings for phase nine, chapter nine of the inquiry will take place between October 1 and October 4.
The inquiry will hear evidence in relation to the abuse of children in residential accommodation for young offenders and children, and young persons in need of care and protection.
Oakbank School in Aberdeen, Balnacraig School in Perth, and Thornly Park School in Paisley will also be the focus of evidence during the inquiry's next four days.
Balrossie was built as a home for the orphaned children of sailors in 1898 before being converted into a residential school in the 60s.
The B-listed building has lain derelict since the school's closure in the late 1990s.
