EMERGENCY SERVICES were scrambled to help a stricken yacht that had slipped her berth in Gourock.
Members of Greenock's coastguard rescue team were scrambled shortly before 4pm on Thursday, September 26 and led a multi-agency response as two units responded to sightings of a pleasure craft drifting in the vicinity of CalMac's Gourock headquarters.
The yacht was found by the team in between the terminal and Cardwell Bay, where it struck the sea wall before the Helensburgh inshore lifeboat arrived on the scene and towed it to safety.
Coastguard crews could be seen entering the water with the aid of a winch, aiming to secure the vessel before the RNLI rib reached the scene to rescue the vessel.
Coastguard officials have been contacted for comment.
