ALCOHOL prices across Scotland have increased from today.
The minimum price of alcohol has risen by 30 per cent from 50p per unit to 65p per unit.
The increase means that a 70cl bottle of wine cannot be sold for less than £6.09, and a 500ml can of lager will cost at least £1.30.
A 70cl bottle of whisky cannot be sold for less than £18.20, and a 70cl bottle of vodka will be £17.06 minimum.
Minimum pricing was introduced to reduce the availability of cheap alcohol sold in shops.
It has not changed since it was set at 50p per unit back in 2018.
This year's rise in pricing per unit has been introduced to keep up with inflation over the last six years.
