On the last Saturday of September the early birds gathered at Cardwell Garden Centre from various areas of the West of Scotland, some came by car and others came on foot but they all had entered Floralfest 2024.
Clutching their invitations, these keen green-fingered gardeners found themselves a ring-side seat and a cuppa with a cake or scone as yours truly began a commentary to accompany all the pictures.
Although the weather was just a tad cool the winners took to the outdoors for a photo-shoot with their trophies and certificates and -most important- their winning vouchers.
The morning came to a close with a vote of thanks to everyone who took part.
The winner of the Best Overall Garden was Ian Sloan of Ayr and Sheena Keill was Gourock’s only entrant and local winner.
Despite a difficult gardening year, everyone deserves an accolade for their efforts and all look forward to 2025.
