GREENOCK'S high street has re-opened whilst a police probe continues into an attempted murder that took place over the weekend.
Business on West Blackhall Street were able to open for business as usual on Tuesday October 1 after the street re-opened late on Monday.
The initial investigation was launched in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Police were called to a report of a 21-year-old man found injured in the West Blackhall Street area at around 12:10am on Saturday, September 28.
The young man was taken to hospital and was said to be in a serious condition, where his current condition remains unknown.
Officers were spotted emptying out bins on West Blackhall Street as well as searching roofs of buildings on Jamaica Street on Monday in an apparent search for evidence.
Several police vans and cars were seen on the street and the surrounding area and a small segment of the pavement remained taped off throughout the course of Monday.
A number of officers remain stationed in the area while investigations continued late into Monday afternoon.
At the time of writing a solitary unit remains stationed in the vicinity of where the incident occurred.
The closure led to several businesses along both West Blackhall Street and Jamaica Street being affected as police carried out their initial stages of investigation.
Police had launched an appeal for information from the public following the incident on Saturday night.
