FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze in Port Glasgow on Tuesday evening.
Three appliances attended the scene of a fire on the ground floor of a building on Brookfield Road at around 8pm.
The Telegraph understands that residents were evacuated from their homes for a time while emergency services personnel extinguished the fire.
No one was injured in the incident.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 8.02pm on Tuesday, 1 October, to reports of a fire within the ground floor of a domestic building on Brookfield Road in Port Glasgow.
"Operations control mobilised three appliances to the scene, and firefighters worked to extinguish the fire.
"There were no casualties, and crews have now left the scene after ensuring the area was safe."
