DRIVERS will have to deal with an overnight closure and a diversion on a busy road in Greenock later this month.
Scottish Water has confirmed the eastbound carriageway of the A78 Inverkip Road between West Shaw Street and Greenock bus station will close at 8pm on Monday, October 14, and reopen at 6am on Tuesday, October 15.
Traffic will be diverted from Inverkip Road along West Shaw Street, Princes Street, Union Street, Patrick Street, Grey Place and onto Dalrymple Street.
Scottish Water said the closure is required to replace a defective manhole cover on the carriageway.
A spokesperson for the company added: "We would like to thank road users for their patience and understanding while we carry out this essential work."
