THE Telegraph has teamed up with Greenock Morton to produce a special publication celebrating the football club's 150th anniversary.
The one-off book Greenock Morton FC 150 years will hit the shelves of selected local retailers later this month and is available now to pre-order.
The publication includes interviews with first team manager Dougie Imrie, general manager Dale Pryde-MacDonald, and King of Cappielow Andy Ritchie.
It also features stalwarts of the club's history such as former Tele sports editor Roger Graham and Morton Club Together Founder Graham MacLennan, who share diverse stories around the inner workings of Cappielow.
The 128-page publication will take reader on a trip down memory lane and will look back on some of the club's best days that shaped the Cappielow outfit into what it today.
Ton general manager Mr Pryde-MacDonald said he was humbled to be asked to be a part of the publication and added that readers can enjoy an array of brilliant stories about every aspect of the club.
He said: "I've only been here for 10 months whilst there are people who've played a part here for maybe 50-60 years.
"As much as you want to talk about where you are now and where you want to go, there needs to be a great sign of respect to the people who've stood here before you to help get the club to where it is today.
"I was really humbled to be asked to contribute, but as you'll see in the book there are far more worthy people who've got real good, memorable and positive stories about the club."
Russell Steele, editor of the exclusive publication and former Tele staffer, opened up about taking the journey back through time, with the help of some familiar faces.
And despite playing such a prominent role in the 'Save the Ton' campaign over 20-years ago, he admits that he's now been able to step back and appreciate just how special a club the Ton truly is - not only to him but to the people of Inverclyde. This is a message that shines through the whole publication.
“It's been a real pleasure to edit this souvenir publication for the club's 150th anniversary and to be able to interview such a wide variety of people for it," he added.
“As a lifelong fan, it has been a labour of love - getting the chance to chat to the likes of legends such as Andy Ritchie for a couple of hours about all things Morton, and hear all those brilliant stories, was such an enjoyable experience.
“I was on the Save the Ton committee back in the day as campaign secretary, so it was particularly interesting to look back on that period in the club's history and how the whole community rallied round to keep it alive.
“When you look back on its history you realise that Morton is such a special football club.
"It means so much to many people and I think that is something which shines through in all of the features we have compiled to celebrate this very important milestone.”
