LEISURE bosses are giving children the chance to get hands on with vital information surrounding water safety later this month.
The Waterfront Leisure Complex will host a free, rookie lifeguard taster session in one week's time, hosted by Inverclyde Leisure.
The hour-long event will take place on Saturday, October 12.
It will give youngsters aged 8-13 a unique opportunity to glimpse the area's Rookie Lifeguard programme and, more importantly, learn vital skills to allow them to be confident in both shallow and deep water.
There will also be fun and varied activities on the day.
Participants will be taught critical survival, rescue and sports skills all delivered in an exciting way, in the hope of seeing an increase in water safety.
Spaces are limited and anyone looking to book are advised to contact Waterfront Swim School on 01475 797979 (select option 2).
