ROAD safety concerns in Gourock are set to be raised at a public meeting in the town later this month.
Gourock Community Council says its members have been approached with concerns around the safety of older or less mobile residents crossing Albert Road because of busy traffic in the area.
The group is also inviting members of the public to come along and discuss proposals to help people affected by McGill’s decision to withdraw the company’s 540 bus service, as covered recently in the Telegraph.
The meeting, on Monday, October 21, will also examine the future of the Gourock-Dunoon passenger ferry service after environmental consultants questioned whether there was a need for the link when Western Ferries already operates a passenger and vehicle service – another story featured in the Tele last week.
The meeting takes place at the Gamble Halls, where residents will have a chance to raise issues of concern to them from 7pm onwards before the formal meeting starts at 7.30pm.
