INVERCLYDE is set to honour the fallen this November with several public ceremonies and parades planned for next month.
Eight organisations have notified Inverclyde Council of their intentions to mark Remembrance Sunday with a public procession next month.
Approximately 800 people are set to take part in the local commemorations, which are set to take place on Sunday, November 10.
The Remembrance Day events will kick off in Gourock at around 10:15am with members of the 3rd Gourock Boys Brigade, the 2nd Gourock Boys Brigade and the 4th Gourock Guides taking part in processions.
The three groups’ parades will start on Binnie Street and see them march to the Ashton War Memorial and back.
In Inverkip, a parade organised by the 85th Greenock and District Scout Group will begin at noon from Inverkip Church Hall and will proceed along Langhouse Road, along the Main Street through the village and crossing the A78 using the crossing point at the south exit from the village.
Participants will then head along the footpath which runs alongside the Kip Marina to the war memorial at Inverkip beach.
The procession will return to Inverkip Church Hall along the same route.
Skelmorlie 71st Ayrshire Scouts will also be marking the day with a procession, which will begin at Skelmorlie and Wemyss Bay Parish Church at 11:40am.
They will then make their way along the A78 to the war memorial at Wemyss Bay Ferry Terminal/Train Station.
A Port Glasgow parade is also scheduled, with St Columba’s School Band listed as the organiser.
The march is set to kick off at 12:30pm and will start at Port Glasgow Civic Square before moving onto Princes Street, John Wood Street and Fore Street to the Cenotaph.
On return, the procession will proceed along Fore Street, Scarlow Street and will disperse at Civic Square.
Greenock Sea Cadets have notified the local authority of their intention to hold a procession at 12 noon, which will begin at Baker Street and proceed along Regent Street, Bakers Brae, Mearns Street and Shaw Place.
A final notice of procession, issued by Inverclyde Council, is for a march which will kick off at 11:45am.
Those taking part will meet at Royal Street in Gourock before moving on to John Street, Royal Street, Shore Street, Kempock Street to the Cenotaph.
The procession will return along lower Kempock Street, Shore Street and will end at John Street.
