THE Northern Lights once again lit up the skies above Inverclyde last night – and the Tele’s readers captured them in all their glory.
The latest stunning display of the aurora borealis was clearly visible for several hours on Thursday evening, with no shortage of photographers.
It was the strongest and most widespread showing of the phenomenon in the UK since May.
BBC weather presenter Simon King says that as solar activity weakens it might still be possible to see the lights in some northern areas of the UK on Friday, though with cloud cover expected to remain in place across Inverclyde until Saturday evening, it looks like local aurora-watchers will have to wait a bit longer for their next chance to see the spectacular show.
