Cubs from the 32nd Cub pack recently attended the National ‘Howling’ adventure camp at Fordell Firs in Fife.
The 20 Cubs and leaders enjoyed the company of 500 Cubs from all across Scotland for two nights.
They took part in lots of adventurous activities, shelter building and backwoods cooking and a huge camp fire under a full moon.
Many thanks to the 32nd Cub leader team, camp staff, and staff at Fordell for making the camp so enjoyable.
Meanwhile, the annual Scout Orienteering Competition took place at Everton on Sunday. Scouts spent the morning taking part in training bases, covering mapping and navigation skills and Scouting knowledge.
Come the afternoon the Scouts were split into small teams and had to plot and navigate their way around checkpoints where they undertook challenges to collect bonus points.
In the end, a team from the 10th won the competition (retaining the trophy for a second year). Second and third places were closely contested by teams from the 10th and the 42nd.
Well done to all the Scouts that took part, and thanks to ADC Scouts Gordon for organising and all the Leaders/Explorers who supported the event.
Finally this week, the 70th Beavers have been working towards their Safety Activity Badge. This week they completed their badge by discussing on-line safety. Then they invested seven new Beavers into their colony.
After making their promise the new Beavers were presented with their neckies and membership certificates watched by their families and the rest of the colony.
