ROAD maintenance company Amey has issued an update to drivers on planned roadworks on the Erskine Bridge this weekend.
Part of the bridge had been due to shut for cable inspections on both Friday and Saturday night from 8pm until 6am the following morning.
The southbound carriageway was to have been shut completely, with one lane of the northbound carriageway closed too.
The firm previously announced that Saturday evening work would not be required this weekend - and they now say there will be no inspections on Saturday night either.
A spokesperson said: "Due to operational issues, this weekend's cable inspections on the A898 at Erskine Bridge have been cancelled. As a result, no overnight closures at this location will take place on Friday, October 11 or Saturday, October 12."
The same operational issues caused the cancellation of cable inspection works on the weekend of October 4 and 5, while planned closures on the night of Saturday, September 28 were also cancelled.
The cables on the bridge are required to be inspected once every four years.
The inspections are due to continue until the weekend of Saturday, October 26.
