There has been an increasing military presence on the River Clyde and more widely on the west of Scotland this week.

This is set to further grow as Exercise Strike Warrior takes place between October 14 and 27.

The training exercise will involve warships, submarines, and aircraft.

The event is held annually and sees military assets of all shapes and sizes using the west coast as a base, with previous exercises seeing vessels dock at HMNB Clyde, Hunterston, and Greenock.

On Friday morning, A530 HNOMS Maud was spotted followed by Belgian frigate Louise-Mari and HNLMS De Ruyter, which passed by Greenock in the early afternoon.
