A PIONEERING community initiative opened the page on an exciting new chapter as it held an official relaunch event last week.

Community members, volunteers, and supporters came together to celebrate the Compassionate Inverclyde’s commitment to fostering a more compassionate and inclusive Inverclyde at the Wyllieum last Wednesday.

The event served as a platform to showcase Compassionate Inverclyde's diverse range of initiatives, including the highly impactful No One Dies Alone (NODA) program, their box initiatives including ‘Jolly Boxes’ and ‘Back Home Boxes’, the innovative Social Hubs project, and their Selfcare 360 Wellbeing programme.

Attendees enjoyed talks from guest speakers such as Inverclyde Council chief executive Louise Long MBE, Provost Drew McKenzie, and NHS chaplain Cindy Pollock.

Guests also heard first hand from valued Compassionate Inverclyde volunteer Muriel Searl and director Alison Bunce.

Talks were followed by a lively networking session that fostered connections and encouraged collaboration.

A key highlight of the evening was the unveiling of Compassionate Inverclyde’s brand-new website.

Designed for user-friendliness, the website serves as a valuable resource for anyone seeking information about the organisation's services, volunteering opportunities, and upcoming events.

Alison Bunce, director at Compassionate Inverclyde, said: “We are thrilled with the turnout and the positive energy that filled The Wyllieum on Wednesday night.

“This event was a powerful reminder of the importance of community and the incredible impact that people can have when they come together with a shared purpose.”
