WORK to demolish the former Job Centre in Port Glasgow is now complete.
Planning permission has been approved by Inverclyde Council for two drive-through food and drink outlets at the site in Scarlow Street.
Offers of over £800,000 are being invited for the cleared site, which is being marketed through property agents Bowman Rebecchi.
The approved application was made by Greenock businessmen Sandy and James Easdale’s property investment company Dalglen, which owns the site.
No details are given in planning documents about any potential operators for the units.
When permission was granted in June, Inverclyde Council officials stated: “This well-connected location within the town centre is considered appropriate. It is not considered that the premises would draw trade away from other centres.
“As the site accommodates a currently vacant premises, this proposal would bring clear community and economic benefits.”
