AN INVERCLYDE musical duo have been longlisted for a national award.

The Laurettes are up for Folk and Traditional Artist of the Year at this year’s Scottish Live Music Awards.

Lynette Beaton and Lauren O’Donoghue face competition from a number of popular acts, including Skerryvore, Skipinnish, Manran and Peat and Diesel.

The event's organisers say more than 12,500 nominations were received across all categories this year.
