INVERCLYDE Music Festival Association has been awarded more than £3,000 in the latest round of Inverclyde Council’s Community Grants Fund.
The group, which organises the area’s annual gala event, has been given £3.562.50 by the local authority.
The cash will help cover the costs of next year’s music festival.
The Tele reported recently on warnings from the festival's organisers that the popular annual event could be axed unless it could bridge a £12,000 funding gap.
Since then, however, the organisers have published the festival's 2025 syllabus and invited musicians from across the area to submit their entries for the event, which will take place from January 20 until February 1.
The 2025 schedule includes sections for solo, duet and ensemble vocals, school choirs and instrumental sections for piano, strings, woodwind, brass, acoustic and electric guitar, chanter, bagpipe, percussion and more.
