WORK is progressing on an improved walking and cycling path at a popular Inverclyde beauty spot.
It is hoped the project - which got underway in August - will make the stone-covered single-track path more accessible for wheelchair users and prams.
An initial 1.1 kilometres of the track is to be widened to a width of three metres, with a new surface being installed from Lunderston Bay towards Inverkip
The National Cycle Network Route 753 Lunderston Bay to Inverkip project is backed by £330,000 of funding from the Scottish Government.
The scheme has been developed and delivered through a partnership between Inverclyde Council, landowners Ardgowan Estate and charity Sustrans.
The work is expected to last three months, with a temporary diversion in place along the A770 path.
It is hoped that future works will take place on the more sections of path down to Kip Marina, subject to the availability of funding.
