A LOCAL drama group aimed at young people has received a four-figure sum from Inverclyde Council.
Inverclyde Youth Theatre (Kayos) is one of 100 groups that have received money in the latest round of awards from the local authority’s Community Grants Fund.
The group has been given £1,500, subject to conditions, to help cover the costs of hiring rehearsal space, storage, insurance and paying for facilitators.
Kayos's members are currently preparing to bring Dracula: The Musical to the stage at Greenock's Old West Kirk as part of the annual Galoshans Festival, which has also secured funding support from the festival itself and from the Cultural Collective.
Performances will be staged on Thursday, October 31, Friday, November 1 and Saturday, November 2 at 7.30pm, with an additional matinee performance at 2.30pm on the Saturday.
Tickets for the show are on sale now at tinyurl.com/yxev5vas.
