STRONG winds and heavy rain are set to strike Inverclyde later this week, according to Met Office predictions.
The forecaster has put a weather warning in place for some parts of Scotland on Friday, October 18 - and while the warning doesn't currently cover Inverclyde, the area isn't likely to be spared the blustery conditions.
The Met Office is currently predicting southerly or south-westerly winds gusting to between 40 and 50 miles per hour on Friday, while up to 8mm of rain is also being forecast for the afternoon and evening.
And after a day of respite on Saturday, with drier weather and sunny intervals predicted, more heavy rain looks set to affect the area on the morning of Sunday, October 20.
