MET Office forecasters have warned of potential disruption to travellers in Inverclyde this weekend after issuing a yellow weather warning.
The warning says there could be possible disruptions across the west coast of Scotland in the latter parts of the weekend.
The alert warns of potential delays for road, transport and ferry users across the area.
The warning, in place from 3pm on Sunday, October 20 until midday the following day, comes as forecasters predict winds gusting up to 70-80mph in some exposed coastal areas and 55-65mph elsewhere.
The Met Office says a period of strong south to south-easterly winds will likely develop through Sunday morning. which could see tiles blown off roofs or debris being lifted off the ground.
Winds will eventually turn south-westerly, with a period of especially strong winds possible during Sunday afternoon and evening.
Forecasters say there is a small chance of injuries and danger to life from large waves, flying debris and from beach materials being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties
There is also a slight chance of power cuts and interruption to mobile phone coverage.
People are being advised to check conditions before attempting to drive and regularly checking bus or train timetables before amending travel plans if necessary.
In addition, The Met Office is currently predicting southerly or south-westerly winds gusting to between 40 and 50 miles per hour on Friday afternoon, while up to 8mm of rain is also being forecast for Friday afternoon and evening.
