INVERCLYDE'S residents are being given a chance to shape the future of their community in a new public consultation.

The 'Community Choices' survey is asking for people to share their views on four themes: affordable before and after school childcare, your community, community safety and learning in the community.

Residents are being encouraged to get involved in the first instance through the council’s Community Choices online platform.

Paper versions of the consultation are also available from libraries across Inverclyde, as well as additional digital help.

A series of 'community conversation weeks' is also planned, delivered by Inverclyde council's community learning and development service and featuring online and in-person listening events.

The first 'community conversation week' is in Port Glasgow and will include an hour-long, in-person conversation at Port Glasgow Town Hall on Monday, October 28 from 6-7pm.

A digital support drop-in session has also been organised at Port Glasgow Library on Thursday October 31 from 5.30-7.30pm to help people access the online platform.

Further 'community conversation weeks' are planned for Greenock South and Southwest from November 18, Greenock East and Central from December 2, Inverkip and Wemyss Bay from January 27, Greenock West and Gourock from February 10, and Kilmacolm and Quarriers Village from February 24.
