A ‘MULTI-SENSORY horror experience’ tailored towards people who are deaf or hard of hearing is being held in Greenock this weekend.
Part of the Galoshans Festival, which gets under way on Thursday, ‘Haptic Horror’ by Connor Bristow is an audio-visual horror experience around the idea of fears, which will be experienced through a series of personal speakers which will be held to participants’ bodies to induce the physical sound-sensation.
The performances are aimed at audiences aged 12 and over, and are open to anyone, but with a specific aim to engage some deaf or hearing-impaired audience members.
The story for the work was created by the class in the Clydeview Deaf Unit in collaboration with Niamh McKellar and Connor Bristow in a series of workshops.
There are performances at the Watt Institution on Saturday, October 19 at 11am, 1pm and 2.30pm.
Admission is free but ticketed, and tickets can be booked online at galoshansfestival.co.uk.
