A MAN has been arrested and charged following an investigation into an alleged attempted murder at a Greenock pub.
Police were called to the James Watt on Cathcart Street at around 6:30pm on September 17.
A 60-year-old man was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in the wake of the incident, with his condition being described as 'serious'.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged following an investigation into the attempted murder of a 60-year-old man in Greenock.
“The incident happened around 6.30pm on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, within licensed premises in Cathcart Street, Greenock.
“The man is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Friday, October 18, 2024.”
