INVERCLYDE youngsters made waves and met new friends at a fun holiday club in Greenock this October week.

The team at Greenock Baptist Church hosted The King's Club for primary school pupils to keep them entertained before they return to the classroom.

Pastor Paul Coventry and a group of 15 volunteers organised fun activities around the theme of 'deep sea divers', where youngsters learned all about the ocean while finding out more about bible stories.

Paul said The King's Club is a great way for youngsters to learn in a fun way while making friends.

He added: "We run the club every October school holiday and it's always really popular with the youngsters.

"We have about 25 children registered this year.

"We couldn't do it without our team of volunteers from the church who always give a lot of energy and commitment and put in a tremendous amount of work."

They learned fantastic facts and figures about super sea creatures, and even got the chance to make their own paper jellyfish.

The King's Club started in 2018 and was forced to take a break for two years during covid, returning in 2022.

Paul said the club is a great way for youngsters to socialise and learn at the same time.

Paul added: "The youngsters all really enjoy the singing and the crafts and we try to make it all fun for them.

"It's educational and it's a lot of fun as well."
