A PORT Glasgow woman is to stand trial after she denied assaulting a woman to her injury by dragging her across the ground.

Stephanie Bryan, 34, is charged with attacking her alleged victim at an address in Stanton Square on May 27.

She is accused of repeatedly striking the woman on the head and body before seizing her by the hair and pulling her.

Prosecutors say Bryan committed the offence while subject to a bail order preventing her from entering Stanton Square.

Bryan, of Southfield Avenue, faces a further allegation that she was in possession of class A drug cocaine at Greenock police office on the same date.

She is also charged with making violent threats and behaving in an aggressive manner at Inverclyde Royal Hospital.

She maintained her plea of not guilty during a brief hearing at Greenock Sheriff Court, and is due to return for trial on November 7.
