HAPPY Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder will share ‘wild tales’ from his career as his spoken word tour arrives in Greenock this week.
The Madchester icon will take to the stage at the Beacon Arts Centre on Friday, October 25.
He is currently touring in support of his new book, ‘Happy Mondays - and Fridays and Saturdays and Sundays’.
The audience can expect ‘a carnival of excess, wild tales and improbable truths’ on the night.
The Happy Mondays were formed in Salford in 1980 and, in various incarnations, have released four albums: Squirrel and G-Man Twenty Four Hour Party People Plastic Face Carnt Smile (White Out) (1987), Bummed (1988), Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches (1990), Yes Please! (1992) and Unkle Dysfunktional (2007).
Their best performing UK chart singles both came from Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches, with Step On and Kinky Afro both reaching number 5 in the UK top 40.
Ryder featured in the 2010 series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and, more recently, has appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox alongside bandmate Mark 'Bez' Berry.
Tickets are available at beaconartscentre.co.uk.
